This class highlights the components of S.T.E.A.M.: Science, Technology, Engineering, (The) Arts and Mathematics with socialization. Through the use of 20 different types of materials, participants will have an opportunity to collaboratively and create temporary structures and designs using their imagination and knowledge of building with peers. The students will kinesthetically travel from station to station with their self-selected partner/s each week and discover the joy of building!
The Cre8ive Containers class celebrates the elements of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, (The) Arts and Mathematics. Cr8tive Containers for Kids is a program that encompasses all these components by combining imagination with invention and academic skills, while addressing the NYS Standards. Children will use recycled materials to create and remodel containers for their own useful purposes. The participants will have an opportunity to embellish the works of famous artists and design their ideas onto containers of all sizes and shapes as they apply the NYS Standards of S.T.E.A.M. in an authentic and practical arena.
Participants will learn about a different accomplished person who is/was a scientist, technologist, engineer, artist or mathematician. The students will then have an opportunity to create a project or imaginative invention, as part of a group or individually, based on this discovery.
This class offers a wide variety of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) concepts within each session. Each week participants will have a rare chance to venture the original and unique games created to explore all the components of S.T.E.A.M. Through individual and group opportunities, the students will learn how to navigate the games and be encouraged to continue to play many of these games at home, such as: Measuring Caps, Fidget Fun, Create-a-Constellation, Cube-It Game, Marble Play & much, much more.
